NCH Participation in Events

NCH organizes and participates in events related to consumer education and empowerment on a regular basis. Listed below are some of these events, organized in the recent past:

December 30th, 2011 Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission

NCH senior members had a meeting with the officials of DERC in order to understand the grievance redressal hierarchy in electricity sector and understand the supply code & performance standards issued by DERC.

NCH members attended a seminar on “Financial Planning and Investment in Equities” organized in Mount Abu Public School, Rohini Sector 5, Delhi.

NCH participated in a Seminar on “Investor Awareness and Capital Markets” organised at St. Margaret’s School, D – Block, Prashant Vihar, Rohini, Delhi – 110 008.
December 21th, 2011 Institute of Management Studies

The NCH team visited Institute of Management Studies to conduct a consumer awareness building program to educate students about consumer rights and responsibilities and how NCH helps to seek redressal of consumer complaints.

November 25th, 2011 7th National Consumer Convention on Consumer Empowerment organized by Consumer Coordination Council (CCC), New Delhi and Consumer Association, Chandigarh

November 24th, 2011 Film Leadership Project, 2011- CSR Project of PVR Cinemas

The Film Leadership Project -2011 organised by ITC's Classmate And PVR Nest, was attended by Ms. Deepika Sur, Manager-NCH and Mr. Niraj Singh. Short films made by children were screened at the event.
November 11th, 2011 Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI)

Ms. Deepika Sur and Mr. Kanchan from NCH had a meeting with ASCI. The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) collaborates with regulators on “Strengthening Self-regulation of Advertising Content”.

Senior members of NCH attended a Seminar conducted by IRDA on policies, regulations and consumer concern in Insurance Sector.
November 7th, 2011 Sikkim State Helpline, Gangtok, Sikkim

Ms. Deepika Sur and Mr. Sanjeev Talwar visited Sikkim State Consumer Helpline to conduct a training programme at their office in Gangtok.

Discussion on hike in Inflation Rate. Prof. Sri Ram Khanna participated in the same.

Discussion on decision of High Court against Greater Noida land encroachment. Prof. Sri Ram Khanna participated in the same.

Prof. Sri Ram Khanna was invited for a discussion on inflation in food products.
October 12th, 2011 FOSTIIMA Business School

The NCH team visited FOSTIIMA Business School to conduct a consumer awareness program explaining consumer rights and responsibilities and how NCH helps to seek redressal of consumer complaints.

September 27th,2011 JAGRITI - A consumer awareness program 

Organized at The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Maidangadhi, Delhi on Tuesday the 27th of September 2011 for spreading the message of consumer protection.

A presentation was given on consumer awareness that was attended by around seventy students and thirty Faculty/Staff members including Dr.S.K.Bisht, Chief Security Officer (IGNOU) and Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Assistant Registrar (IGNOU).

Mr. Ram Vilas thakur from the Ministry of Food and Consumer protection, Govt of Bihar along with Ms. Bibha Kumari, Sector incharge of Bihar State Consumer Helpline visited NCH to understand the operation and functioning of NCH.

Ms. Deepika Sur, Project Manager and Mr. Sanjeev Talwar, Sr. Counsellor were deputed to provide in-depth training related to Call centre operations, Range of issues covered under Consumer Protection Act and applicable answers for frequently occurring problems for each sector and industry such as Telecom, Banking, Insurance, NBFC, Electricity, Public Distribution System, LPG, Domestic Appliances, Education, Medical Negligence etc.

Ms. Deepika Sur, Manager-NCH and Ms. Harsh Dhingra, Senior Counsellor had a meeting with Mr. S.K Gupta (Advisor) CA & SP, TRAI, to discuss the issue of sending bulk sms to consumers as a new, additional service from National Consumer Helpline.

Shri Virendra Kumar Sood, Advisor (Engg.) and Shri Naresh Kumar, Advisor (Legal) from Electricity Ombudsman,
Delhi visited NCH to discuss the nature of complaints faced in electricity sector and the redressal mechanism followed in such cases.
